First things first: check with your GP if you have a medical condition, recent injury or any concerns about balance or your heart.
Balance and confidence
The mat moves a little as you bounce, which gently asks your body to keep itself steady. Many people find that, with regular practice, they simply feel more sure on their feet — and that confidence carries over to the stairs, the garden and the shops.
Using the Stability Bar
The BERG 110 + Stability Bar has a bar right in front of you. Rest both hands on it, keep your elbows soft and let it steady you. As you grow more confident you might hold it more lightly — or keep a firm grip. Either is perfectly fine.
Starting gently
- Step on and off slowly, holding the bar.
- Begin with the health bounce — heels lift, toes stay down — for two or three minutes.
- Try a slow march once that feels easy.
- Stop before you feel tired. Five minutes is a great start.
- Rest a day in between sessions for the first couple of weeks.
A good fit for Irish weather
When it's too wet or icy for a walk, the rebounder is right there in the sitting room. That's often the thing that keeps people moving all winter.
